Jinyinhu Campus of Wuhan Union Hospital is located on the north bank of Jinyinhu Lake in Wuhan Airport Economic Development Zone. Upon completion, it will become a first-class Grade-A tertiary hospital in the jurisdiction area. It consists of three parts - Phase I, Phase II and Proton Medical Center. It is a comprehensive and intelligent hospital featured by oncotherapy, and also a regional major epidemic prevention and treatment base in the country. At present, it is seamlessly connected to the Wuhan Union Hospital, and high-quality medical resources and services have been fully available for residents in Dongxihu District to enjoy the high-quality services provided by the national medical team at their doorstep.

Phase II of this project, with a gross floor area of 206,000 m2 and a total of more than 1,000 beds, is composed of four buildings, including an infection ward building, inpatient building for prevention and control of infectious diseases in both peacetime and epidemic period, a medical laboratory and clinical research center, and a logistics support building. In order to improve the efficiency and quality of fire safety acceptance, and ensure the timely relocation of key projects in Jinyinhu Campus of Wuhan Union Hospital in Dongxihu District, the Dongxihu District Fire Service Center for Plan Review organized experts to provide technical services for fire safety at the construction site in advance.

On December 10, the expert group of the Dongxihu District Fire Service Center for Plan Review arrived at the construction site of Jinyinhu Campus of Wuhan Union Hospital, and had face-to-face communication with the project owner (i.e., Wuhan Union Hospital) and the construction organization (i.e., China Construction Third Engineering Bureau Group Co., Ltd.). They inspected the construction problems on site, interpreted technical specifications and standards for fire safety, and assisted the project owner in fulfilling various fire protection design requirements. By providing priority services and professional guidance, they can effectively avoid rectification and rework caused by non-compliance with fire safety regulations and acceptance standards during the subsequent construction, and thereby save time and costs. At the site, the expert group found problems and answered the questions raised. Later, the group prepared a rectification plan with the project owner to strengthen the fire safety source control of Jinyinhu Campus of Wuhan Union Hospital.

Next, the Dongxihu District Fire Service Center for Plan Review will continue to provide thoughtful technical services for fire safety for Jinyinhu Campus of Wuhan Union Hospital and offer on-site technical guidance. The center will take the initiative to provide priority services, enhance service awareness and improve service quality, so as to ensure that the project can pass the fire safety acceptance and be officially put into use by the end of this month.
